condition: Linen backed to flatten and stabilize - the poster had originally been folded; overall fair to good condition; minor paper and color loss along the folds as shown in the photos; black overstrike at the top and bottom of the image, though not too obtrusive to the overall appearance; visible writing from the back of the poster to the left of the image. Beautiful Art Deco design.

Originally released in 1940 and based on the romantic historic story directed by Anatole Litvak. This is a love triangle - tense, heavy and tragic. The film was based on the novel by Rachel Field starring Bette Davis as"a woman who becomes governess to the children of a duke and his evil wife, and clashes with her; a romance grows between the governess and the duke, but tragedy ensues."
