"Maybe one of my favorites because it sums up the humor, irony, and drama of life.

Begun in 2005 as a portrait of a toilet bowl perfectly framed in a metal structure in a space that my employer in New York was looking to rent. So out of place, whether it was intentionally staged, or the elements were left in the area to be discarded, and my brain zeroed in on the composition,  the image was imprinted on my mind ,and I reproduced it from memory."

Over the next five years, the concept evolved from a static 2-dimensional painting to an intriguing collage filled with dark humor.

"I removed the toilet from the original setting that it was painted against and situated it against a pleated red-brown background, adding the metallic fish trying for the tantalizing apple balanced on the toilet's rim.
