condition: Good condition. Imperfections of some of the elements is to be accepted as part of the work, particularly the nests themselves, as they were created by wasps and retrieved from a pair of 1950s Chevy doors that I found for another project.
medium: mixed - Wasp nests; a wood tray repurposed as the frame and covered with a light natural varnish; the nests are set into a hardboard panel with gloss grey over navy blue spray paint applied to the surface, and acrylic paint touches of ochre color.
The corners of the hardboard are cut at 45° angles, a nod to the hexagonal cells making up the honeycomb pattern formed in the construction of each nest. The nests are exposed, and extend beyond the depth of the frame. There is a total of six nests, one is attached to another, giving a 'townhouse effect', at the top left side.
