When the original film was released in 1966, it caused a sensation; remember, the sixties were an explosive time: in all of the chaos, there was music, film, cultural revolution. Film was as powerful medium as it still is today, and the film, A Man and a Woman, originally titled Un homme et une femme, a 1966 French film written and directed by Claude Lelouch and starring Anouk Aimee and Jean-Louis Trintignant, was a sensation that made international waves with it's incredible photography- seamless transitions between color, black and white and sepia-toned scenes; the musical score Francis Lai was exceptional. Audiences were enthralled by this award winning romantic film.
